Unusual Options Activity: Call Buying on Taiwan Semiconductor

We noticed a big call trade Monday on Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM). At 10:21 this morning, 2,600 contracts of the Jan. 185 call crossed the tape, against open interest of 554 contracts. This trade moved high in the bid-ask spread, indicating likely buy-to-open activity.
