Stocks Rise Ahead of the Bell

Tuesday, August 27, 2019 08:39 AM | Brad Spears

First Look

Markets are higher before the open Tuesday. There have been no new developments in the trade war between the U.S. and China since President Trump claimed China called the U.S. to make a deal, which China all but denied. The agreement reached between the U.S. and Japan over the weekend is already under threat, with Japan insisting that the U.S. stop additional tariff threats on auto imports before finalizing a trade deal. The Nasdaq is up 0.2%, the S&P 500 is up 0.1%, the Dow Jones is up 0.09%.
