Futures Higher Wednesday Morning; Eurozone Inflation Slows

First Look

Futures are pointed higher Wednesday morning as investors await signals of the Federal Reserve's future monetary policy from Fed Chair Jerome Powell's speech later today. European stocks rose with eurozone inflation slowing for the first time in over a year. The November ADP Employment Change due this morning is projected to show the private sector adding 200,000 jobs after 239,000 were added the previous month. Lastly, NetApp (NTAP) shares are down 10.95% during premarket trading after the data management company missed revenue estimates and issued weak guidance for 2023. The Nasdaq is up 0.38%, the S&P is up 0.23%, the Dow Jones is up 0.11%.

Stocks in Asia are mixed. The Hang Seng is up 2.16%, the Mumbai Sensex is up 0.67%, the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is up 0.52% the Shanghai SE Composite Index is up 0.05% and the Nikkei 225 is down -0.21%. In Europe stocks are up. The FTSE 100 is up 0.88%, the CAC 40 is up 0.87%, the Euro Stoxx 50 is up 0.79% and the DAX is up 0.49%.

Energy futures are mixed today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 1.71 at 79.91 per barrel. Brent crude is up 1.65 at 84.68 per barrel. Natural Gas is flat 0 at 7.24. Precious metals are up this morning. Gold is up 11.18 at 1761.03 per ounce. Platinum is up 16.48 at 1021.65 while silver is up 0.3 at 21.74. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, up against the Yen and down against the Pound. Bitcoin is up 2.01% to $16,817.56 while Ethereum is up 3.86% to $1,262.07.

Put/Call Ratio

Yesterday, 1,547,355 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 1,209,605 put contracts. The single-session put/call ratio was 0.78.
