Markets Mixed Friday; Personal Spending Falls 1%

During trading Friday, 115 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 3 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is up 0.61% so far today while the Dow is up 0.52%, the Nasdaq is down 0.1%, and the Russell 2000 is up 0.28%.

Markets are mixed Friday. The Federal Reserve announced it will lift restrictions on dividends and share repurchases for banks after June 30. Oil is climbing higher as the Suez Canal remains blocked by a cargo ship. PCE Prices rose 0.2% in February while Personal Spending fell 1%, estimates were for 0.3% and -0.3% respectively. President Biden announced a target vaccine distribution of 200 million coronavirus vaccine doses in his first 100 days of office.

Sector Highlights

The Industrials sector is outperforming the market, increasing 1.11% so far on the day. Over the last month the Industrials sector has outperformed the market, increasing 5.72% while the S&P increased 0.73%.

The Consumer Cyclical sector is outperforming the market today, decreasing 0.96% so far on the day.
