Industrial Stocks Dominate 52-Week Lows Friday; Stocks Rebound

During trading Friday, 1 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 187 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is up 0.84% so far today while the Dow is up 0.56%, the Nasdaq is up 2.01%, and the Russell 2000 is up 1.18%.

Stocks are rebounding Friday to close out a rough week for markets as recession concerns rose over increasingly tight monetary policy from the Federal Reserve in response to higher inflation rates. The Fed rose its Federal Fund rate by 75 basis points in a week that was filled with large rate hikes around the world as the Bank of England increased its Bank Rate by 25 points with dissenting members voting for a large 50 point hike. Meanwhile, the Swiss National Bank rose its rate for the first time in 15 years, moving its effective rate from -0.75% to -0.25%.
