Industrial Production Weakens, Albertson (ACI) Beats Earnings and Raises Dividend; Stocks Rise Monday

During trading Monday, 110 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 61 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is up 0.21% so far today while the Dow is down 0.15%, the Nasdaq is up 0.63%, and the Russell 2000 is up 0.15%.

Stocks are mostly higher Monday afternoon after opening lower. Industrial Production for the month of September came in weaker than expected this morning with Hurricane Ida and the ongoing semiconductor shortage contributing to the 1.3% decline. Meanwhile, Capacity Utilization for September fell to 75.2% during September, against estimates for a slight rise to 76.5%. Lastly, Albertson (ACI) is up 3.75% after beating earnings and revenue estimates, raising its dividend, and providing upside guidance.
