New Pacific Metals (NEWP) Announces Metallurgical Test Program Results for Silver Sand Project in Bolivia

Today, Oct.19, New Pacific Metals (NEWP) announced metallurgical test program results for the company’s Silver Sand Project in Bolivia. The heap leaching industrial mining process method featured heavily in the testing.

As of 09:30 am EDT this morning, NEWP declined 3.98% in value.

Heap Leach Silver Recoveries

Heap leaching is a mining process that employs semi-low grade ore, with “heaps” of the crushed ore set down on impermeable leach pads. Mineral dissolving solution(s) are then used to recover the sought-after minerals. According to New Pacific Metals, an 80% silver recovery was achieved in Bolivia through the heap leach process method.

Silver Sand Project Outlook

The heap leach process flowsheet showed superior performance due to anticipated lower capital intensity and operational costs when compared to other silver recovery alternatives. “We anticipate the project will move forward as a low-cost, open-pit heap leach operation,” CEO Dr. Mark Cruise explained. “The Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Silver Sand Project, including an updated Mineral Resource Estimate, is expected to be published in first half of 2022 and will incorporate results from our current 38,000-metre resource expansion drill program.”
