What’s Going On with CRTD?
Creatd, Inc. (CRTD) stock surged 9.36% after the parent company of Vocal Ventures, Creatd Partners and Recreatd acquired a 10% stake and formed a new strategic partnership with Untamed Photographer, an environmental art platform that sheds awareness on environmental causes through the lens of wildlife photographers. Among the initiatives to be rolled out are non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of the artists’ works. CRTD shares were trading at $4.08 on Wednesday morning, gaining from $3.73 at opening.
What Does It Mean for Creatd?
Creatd Partners’ strategic investment into Untamed Photographer and the strategic partnership will help the latter leverage Creatd’s resources and technology. It marks the second official partnership for Creatd, after Plant Camp launch was announced in late 2020.
“One of our key roles within this strategic partnership will be to evolve their technology capabilities and platform,” said Creatd CEO Jeremy Frommer. “Today, Untamed Photographer sales are limited to print editions; however, we have begun preparations to develop the ability to tokenize and market the unique photographs of the Untamed Photographer artists within the emerging NFT (non-fungible token) market, while giving back to the important movement of protecting the world's wildlife."
Untamed Photographer will also be the first official sponsor of 'Earth,' a new community on Creatd's Vocal platform focused on the natural world. Another initiative, "Capture the Wild" Challenge, seeks submissions from artists to Vocal that feature an original camera or smartphone photograph along with the back story. The Challenge offers a $2,500 first place prize and is open for submissions through June 8.
