TSX up 73 Points, Boosted by Miners

The TSX is u 73 points with the mining sector (+2.15%) posting the biggest gains. Gold traded at a fresh nine-year high early on Wednesday as investors veered away from risky stocks amid rising COVID-19 infections in the United States and elsewhere, even as the U.S. dollar rose.

Gold for August delivery was last seen up US$4.10 to US$1,814.00 per ounce, after earlier touching US$1,816.90, the highest since the fall of 2011.

Info tech (+0.9%) is the second biggest gainer this morning.

Telecoms (-1.5%) and healthcare (-0.87%) are the biggest decliners this morning.
