US stocks closed higher as positive COVID-19 vaccine news from the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca (AZN) lifted economically sensitive sectors.

At last check, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 1.1% to 29,582.39 points and the S&P 500 was up by 0.5% to 3,575.58, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 0.2% to 11,875.99.
