Financial stocks gave back a portion earlier gains late in Thursday's session, with the NYSE Financial Index still higher by 1% as the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) gained 1.3%. The Philadelphia Housing Index climbed 2.8% while the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was down 0.1% shortly before the closing bell. In company news, Robinhood Markets (HOOD) was 6.3% lower late in its first day of Nasdaq trading after the discount broker popular with young retail investors priced a $1.99 billion public offering of nearly 52.4 million class A common shares at $38 per share, the bottom of its expected $38 to $42 range.
