American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.024% higher at 1,559.66 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Friday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which rose 3% and 0.9%, respectively. They were followed by dating app operator Spark Networks (LOV) and telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC), which were up 0.8% each.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT) and computer peripherals maker Logitech International (LOGI), which fell 8.1% and 5.6%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP), which dropped 3.3% and 1.7%.
In the UK and Ireland, the lone gainer was pharmaceutical company Avadel Pharmaceuticals (AVDL), which nudged 0.2% higher.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by mining company BHP Group (BHP) and financial services firm HSBC Holdings (HSBC), which dropped 2.8% and 2.6%, respectively. They were followed by financial services firm Barclays (BCS) and biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which were down 2% and 1.7%.
