European ADRs Move Higher in Thursday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.18% higher at 1,069.04 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Thursday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Zealand Pharma (ZEAL) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS), which climbed 14% and 18% respectively. They were followed by software firm SAP (SAP) and biotech company BioNTech (BNTX), which rose 5.0% and 6.7%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by telecommunications company VEON Ltd. (VEON) and consumer goods company Unilever (UL), which lost 3.4% and 1.8% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS) and telecommunications company Nokia (NOK), which fell 2.9% and 1.9%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA) and mining company BHP Group (BHP), which rose 4% and 1.2% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD) and financial services firm Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which were up 1.7% and 0.9%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics, Plc (AKTX), which fell 5.9% and biopharmaceutical company Amarin Corporation (AMRN), which fell 0.68%. Alcoholic beverage company Diageo (DEO) and biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) lost 2.9% and 1.4% respectively.
