American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.32% higher at 964.10 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Monday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by dating app Spark Networks SE (LOV) and biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT), which rose 6.3% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company TOTAL (TOT) and biopharmaceutical company ERYTECH Pharma (ERYP), which increased 3.5% each.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT) and telecommunications operator Telefonica (TEF), which fell 4.2% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ) and computer peripheral maker Logitech International (LOGI), which lost 3% and 1.7%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by airplane lessor Fly Leasing Limited (FLY) and cruise line operator Carnival Corporation (CUK), which rose 7% and 4.7% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas companies BP (BP) and Royal Dutch Shell (RDS-A), which increased 4% and 3.6%.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) and mining company Barrick Gold Corporation (GOLD), which lost 7.1% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca (AZN) and medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP), which were off 2.9% and 3.4%.
