European ADRs Climb Higher in Tuesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 1.42% higher at 899.62 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which climbed 10% and 4.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company MorphoSys (MOR) and petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which rose 3.9% and 3.7% respectively.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which lost 3.3% and 2% respectively. They were followed by electronics company Philips (PHG) and biopharmaceutical company Grifols (GRFS), which fell 1.9% and 1.5% respectively.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and Verona Pharma (VRNA), which rose 6.6% and 6.4% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival Corporation (CUK) and biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which climbed 6.2% and 4.9% respectively.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by software firm Endava (DAVA) and financial services company Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which fell 2.3% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by utility company National Grid (NGG) and financial services company Barclays (BCS), which were off 1.2% and 0.8% respectively.
