Stocks Rise in the Pre-Market Tuesday

First Look

Stocks are higher in the pre-market Tuesday morning. Shares of JinkoSolar (JKS) stock are higher by 8.5% after the company reported quarterly earnings, beating both revenue and earnings per share expectations. Home Depot (HD) stock is lower by 3.9% after the company reported quarterly revenue below analysts' estimates. Kohl's (KSS) stock is down 12.5% this morning after reporting a beat on revenue, but a miss on EPS and guidance for fiscal 2020. The Nasdaq is up 0.44%, the S&P 500 is up 0.26%, the Dow Jones is up 0.18%.

Stocks on the Move

Medtronic PLC (MDT), Boeing Co (BA) and FedEx Corporation (FDX) are moving higher this morning, while Kohl's Corporation (KSS), Home Depot Inc (HD) and Nordstrom, Inc. (JWN) are headed lower. Broadcom Inc (AVGO), Ventas, Inc. (VTR) and Okta Inc (OKTA) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while AT&T Inc. (T), Public Storage (PSA) and MSG Networks Inc (MSGN) were downgraded.

International Markets

Stocks in Asia are mixed. The Hang Seng is up 1.55%, the Shanghai SE Composite Index is up 0.85%, the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is up 0.62% the Mumbai Sensex is up 0.46% and the Nikkei 225 is down -0.53%. In Europe stocks are up. The FTSE 100 is up 1.15%, the DAX is up 0.85%, the Euro Stoxx 50 is up 0.4% and the CAC 40 is up 0.21%.

Futures & Currencies

Energy futures are down today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is down -0.8 at 56.25 per barrel. Brent crude is down -0.79 at 61.65 per barrel. Natural Gas is down -0.03 at 2.54. Precious metals are mixed this morning. Gold is down -3.64 at 1467.84 per ounce. Platinum is up 4.02 at 898.6 while silver is up 0.1 at 17.1. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, up against the Yen and up against the Pound.

Put/Call Ratio

Yesterday, 1,497,248 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 979,551 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.65 while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.67.
