Stocks Rise Ahead of the Bell

First Look

Major indices are higher in the pre-market Tuesday morning. According to reports, the Chinese government granted waivers that will allow select companies to purchase between 2 and 3 million tons of American soybeans without risk of retaliatory tariffs. The UK Supreme Court ruled that Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament was unlawful and said Parliament should convene immediately. The Nasdaq is up 0.37%, the S&P 500 is up 0.33%, the Dow Jones is up 0.31%.

Stocks on the Move

CarMax, Inc (KMX), Wynn Resorts, Limited (WYNN) and NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) are moving higher this morning, while IHS Markit Ltd (INFO), Philip Morris International Inc. (PM) and Netflix Inc (NFLX) are headed lower. Zscaler Inc (ZS), Wynn Resorts, Limited (WYNN) and Snap Inc (SNAP) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while Blackstone Group Inc (BX), ASE Technology Holding Co Ltd (ASX) and Altra Industrial Motion Corp (AIMC) were downgraded.

International Markets

Stocks in Asia are mixed. The Shanghai SE Composite Index is up 0.28%, the Hang Seng is up 0.23%, the Nikkei 225 is up 0.09% the Mumbai Sensex is up 0.02% and the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is down -0.07%. In Europe stocks are mixed. The CAC 40 is up 0.25%, the Euro Stoxx 50 is up 0.17%, the DAX is up 0.03% and the FTSE 100 is down -0.22%.

Futures & Currencies

Energy futures are up today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 0.28 at 58.08 per barrel. Brent crude is up 0.07 at 63.98 per barrel. Natural Gas is up 0.06 at 2.57. Precious metals are down this morning. Gold is down -3.51 at 1528 per ounce. Platinum is down -2.88 at 956.26 while silver is down -0.11 at 18.61. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, up against the Yen and down against the Pound.

Put/Call Ratio

Yesterday, 992,236 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 640,296 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.65 while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.63.
