First Look
Major indices are mixed in the pre-market Tuesday. The Dow Jones is up 0.4% and the Nasdaq is down 0.7%, largely due to Google’s parent company Alphabet, Inc (GOOGL) reporting quarterly earnings and missing revenue expectations. Shares of GOOGL stock are down 7.6%. Investors will be watching Apple, Inc (AAPL) today, as the company is scheduled to report quarterly earnings after the bell. Other companies reporting today include GM Corp (GM), General Electric (GE), Pfizer (PFE) and McDonald’s Corp (MCD). In a statement Monday, Boeing (BA) acknowledged that the alert system for notifying pilots of a system malfunction was not functional on all 737 Max aircraft. That system is linked to two fatal crashes of 737 Max aircraft. Boeing continues to work on software updates for the 737 Max. The Dow Jones is up 0.22%, the S&P 500 is up 0.04%, the Nasdaq is down -0.07%.

(CMI) are moving higher this morning, while Alphabet Inc Class C (GOOG), Perrigo Company PLC (PRGO) and Western Digital Corp (WDC) are headed lower. Alaska Air Group, Inc. (ALK), Northrop Grumman Corporation (NOC) and Dollar General Corp. (DG) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while Alphabet Inc Class C (GOOG), Bank of America Corp (BAC) and Trade Desk Inc (TTD) were downgraded.
International Markets

The Shanghai SE Composite Index is up 0.52%, the Nikkei 225 is closed for the day, the Mumbai Sensex is down -0.09% the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is down -0.48% and the Hang Seng is down -0.61%. In Europe stocks are mixed. The DAX is up 0.05%, the Euro Stoxx 50 is down -0.09%, the FTSE 100 is down -0.19% and the CAC 40 is down -0.22%.
Futures & Currencies
Energy futures are up today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 0.96 at 64.46 per barrel. Brent crude is up 1.03 at 73.07 per barrel. Natural Gas is up 0.02 at 2.61. Precious metals are up this morning. Gold is up 5.14 at 1285.04 per ounce. Platinum is up 4.43 at 900.17 while silver is up 0.09 at 15.03. The dollar is down compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, down against the Yen and down against the Pound.
Put/Call Ratio
Yesterday, 1,106,508 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 674,174 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.61 while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.59.
