Moderna Suggests New Vaccine Could Be Needed, Consumer Confidence Expected to Dip; Futures Point Lower Tuesday

First Look

Futures are pointed lower Tuesday morning. Executives from Moderna (MRNA) suggested that the many mutations in the omicron variant could mean a new vaccine is needed. Consumer Confidence for November is expected to have edged lower to a reading of 111.0 following October’s rise to 113.8. Lastly, Jinko Solar (JKS) is down 6.23% in pre-market trading after the company beat earnings estimates, missed revenue estimates, and guided fourth-quarter revenues below consensus. The Nasdaq is down -0.5%, the S&P is down -0.9%, the Dow Jones is down -1.09%.

Precious metals are mixed this morning. Gold is up 8.08 at 1792.68 per ounce. Platinum is down -16.31 at 950.05 while silver is down -0.03 at 22.82. The dollar is down compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, down against the Yen and down against the Pound.
