Indices Waiver as White House Develops Plan to Reopen Economy

First Look

Equity index futures fluctuated overnight after a rally early Tuesday faded as the day progressed. The White House is reportedly working on a plan to reopen the economy with a goal, according to economic advisor Larry Kudlow, of having things fully open in the next four to eight weeks. The Nasdaq is up 0.93%, the S&P is up 0.85%, the Dow Jones is up 0.82%.

Stocks on the Move

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCLH), Apache Corporation (APA) and FedEx Corporation (FDX) are moving higher this morning, while The Western Union Company (WU), Dominion Energy Inc (D) and Walt Disney Co (DIS) are headed lower. NuVasive, Inc. (NUVA), Enbridge Inc (ENB) and Dorian LPG Ltd (LPG) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while NV5 Global Inc (NVEE), Badger Meter, Inc. (BMI) and ABM Industries, Inc. (ABM) were downgraded.

International Markets

Stocks in Asia are down. The Hang Seng is down -1.17%, the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is down -0.8%, the Mumbai Sensex is down -0.58% the Shanghai SE Composite Index is down -0.19% and the Nikkei 225 is up 2.14%.Stocks in Europe are down. The CAC 40 is down -1.37%, the Euro Stoxx 50 is down -1.19%, the FTSE 100 is down -1.05% and the DAX is down -0.69%.

Futures & Currencies

Energy futures are up today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 0.69 at 24.32 per barrel. Brent crude is up 0.18 at 32.05 per barrel. Natural Gas is up 0.03 at 1.89. Precious metals are mixed this morning. Gold is down -1.94 at 1645.78 per ounce. Platinum is up 0.58 at 739.64 while silver is down -0.15 at 15.33. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is up against the euro, up against the Yen and down against the Pound.

Put/Call Ratio

Yesterday, 1,262,948 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 826,898 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.65.
