First Look
Futures are pointed higher Tuesday morning with tech stocks leading gains during premarket trading. Retail sales are expected to have risen 0.9% in April following a 0.5% jump the previous month with economists predicting a much smaller increase of 0.3% when excluding autos. Meanwhile, Citigroup (C) shares are 5% higher after Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway took a $3 billion stake stake in the financial institution. Shares of Walmart (WMT) are down 7% after the retailer missed on earnings estimates with higher costs and supply chain issues eating into the company's profit margin. Lastly, oil is up this morning with WTI and Brent crude both surpassing $115 a barrel. The Nasdaq is up 1.92%, the S&P is up 1.52%, the Dow Jones is up 1.17%.

In Europe stocks are up. The Euro Stoxx 50 is up 1.44%, the DAX is up 1.42%, the CAC 40 is up 1.2% and the FTSE 100 is up 0.81%.

Energy futures are up today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 1.07 at 115.27 per barrel. Brent crude is up 1.29 at 115.53 per barrel. Natural Gas is up 0.29 at 8.25. Precious metals are up this morning. Gold is up 8.95 at 1833.09 per ounce. Platinum is up 7.62 at 956.71 while silver is up 0.33 at 21.88. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, up against the Yen and down against the Pound. Bitcoin is up 1.98% to $30,354.26 while Ethereum is up 2.91% to $2,081.09.

Yesterday, 1,192,231 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 758,229 put contracts. The single-session put/call ratio was 0.64.
