Stocks Mixed Monday; Senate Passes Inflation Reduction Act, Bed Bath and Beyond Surges on WallStreetBets Short Squeeze

During trading Monday, 63 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 5 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is down 0.15% so far today while the Dow is up 0.06%, the Nasdaq is down 0.2%, and the Russell 2000 is up 0.87%.

Stocks are mixed Monday afternoon. Bitcoin and Ethereum are 3.37% and 3.33% higher, respectively.

Stocks rallied early in the day on the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act by the Senate. The bill, which contains tax, climate, and healthcare elements, has rallied electric vehicle and energy stocks.

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc (BBBY) is up 36.02% as it enters the second day of a WallStreetBets-led short-squeeze. Former meme stock favorites are rallying today as well. GameStop Corp. (GME) is up 7.75% and AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (AMC) is rising 7.48%.

Lastly, NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) is declining 7.56% despite an earnings and revenue beat as in line guidance marred the report. NVIDIA attributed the lowered guidance to lower than expected video game revenues.
