Stocks Higher Thursday Afternoon; Labor Market Shows Continued Strength

During trading Thursday, 39 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 56 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is up 0.64% so far today while the Dow is up 0.37%, the Nasdaq is up 0.84%, and the Russell 2000 is up 0.66%.

Stocks are higher Thursday afternoon after fluctuating lower. Weekly jobless unexpectedly fell last week as the labor market continues to run hot despite restrictive policy. The fall to 192,000 claims from an upwardly revised 195,000 came against estimates for a slight tick higher to 200,000 claims.

NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) is advancing 13.93% after the chipmaker topped estimates and issued upside revenue guidance. AI outlook was a strong point in the report, with the company saying the space is in an "inflection point".

eBay Inc (EBAY) is down 4.41% despite topping estimates and offering in-line earnings guidance. Despite the upside to reported figures, investors were spooked by a 9% decline in active buyers - the seventh straight quarter of a declining users base.
