Stock Lows Outpace Highs Wednesday; Healthcare Dominates 52-Week Lows

During trading Wednesday, 25 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 404 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is up 0.27% so far today while the Dow is is flat, the Nasdaq is up 0.43%, and the Russell 2000 is down 0.24%.

Markets are higher Wednesday morning as a large batch of earnings was released with most managing to surpass earnings estimates. Bank of America (BAC) and Morgan Stanley (MS) both surpassed EPS projections but missed on revenue estimates from economists. Meanwhile, Proctor & Gamble (PG) and UnitedHealth (UNH) both reported better than expected earnings and revenue numbers. Finally, housing numbers came in above analysts estimates for December with both Building Permits and Housing Starts surpassing expectations.
