Markets off to sleepy start

U.S. stocks are little moved to start the morning with rising oil prices balancing negative economic news from China. The S&P is up 0.10%, and the Dow is up 0.05%. In Asia, markets rose Monday in spite of downbeat economic data out of China. The Shanghai was up 0.84% while the Nikkei was up 0.33%. European stocks are mixed today as oil prices move higher. The FTSE is down 0.37%, while the DAX is up 0.92%.    Energy futures are mixed today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up $1.05 to $47.26 per barrel, while natural gas is down $0.03 to $2.21. Metals prices are up today. Gold is up $11.40 to $1,284.10 per ounce and platinum is up $5.90 to $1,058.00. The Dollar is down versus the Euro and up against the Yen. Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Inc.(ANAC), Whole Foods Market, Inc. (WFM), and Ternium S.A. (TEX) are early risers, while Weibo Corporation (WB), YY Inc.(YY) and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) are down. [InvestorsKeyhole, news and data sources]
