Financial Services, Industrial Stocks Lead List of New 52-Week Highs

During trading Friday, 113 stocks traded to a 52-week high, while 8 stocks bottomed out at new 52-week lows. The S&P 500 is up 0.3% so far today while the Dow is up 0.39%, the Nasdaq is up 0.11%, and the Russell 2000 is down 0.37%.

Stocks are trading higher near record levels Friday afternoon. Producer Price Index numbers released this morning for March showed 1.0% growth, which was double expectations of 0.5%. Core numbers, which exclude energy and other volatile commodities, rose 0.7% on expectations for a 0.2% increase.

Financial Services stocks dominated our list of highs today with 43 out of the 113 total stocks that reached their high coming from the Financial Services sector. The Financial Services sector is underperforming the market, is flat 0% so far on the day. Over the last month the Financial Services sector has performed even with the market with change.

BrightSphere Investment Group (BSIG) is on highs after being upgraded to Buy from Neutral at BofA, with a price target increase to $27 from $22. Meanwhile, Main Street Capital (MAIN) advanced an ammendment to its revolving credit facility yesterday, increasing commitments of the credit facility to $855 million from $780 million.

Industrials had the second largest presence on our 52-week highs, with 19 out of 113 highs coming from the Industrials sector.
