Markets are mixed Wednesday ahead of Thanksgiving and Black Friday as mostly strong economic data was reported. Initial unemployment claims were far below the expected level of 265,000 with only 199,000 claims filed. Meanwhile, personal income and personal spending rose more than estimates with a 0.5% and 1.3% increase respectively. PCE Prices met analysts expectations for a 0.6% rise overall and 0.4% increase in core prices during October. Finally, new home sales came in below estimates with 745,000 but saw September’s numbers revised up to 800,000.

Over the last month the Real Estate sector has underperformed the market, increasing 1.37% while the S&P increased 2.79%.
