Stocks Rise Before the Bell

First Look

Major indices are up ahead of the open Monday morning. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson continues to push for a Brexit divorce from the European Union by October 31. Johnson is following through with plans to suspend parliament after MP’s voted against a no-deal split from the EU, while also denying his request for a snap general election. Parliament will be suspended after Monday’s session, and will remain closed through October 14, giving Johnson’s opposition less time to stop a no-deal split ahead of the October 31 deadline. The S&P 500 is up 0.28%, the Nasdaq is up 0.17%, the Nasdaq is up 0.17%.
