Morning Update: Markets Mixed to Start the Week

First Look

Markets are mixed ahead of the open Monday. President Trump tweeted Sunday “No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION” after Special Counsel Robert Mueller released a report detailing the findings of his 22-month inquiry to the Attorney General. Mueller failed to exonerate President Trump, but Attorney General William Barr said there was not enough evidence to pursue an obstruction charge in his four-page letter to Congress. In Britain, members of Parliament are scheduled to vote today on whether to take over Brexit policy from British Prime Minister Theresa May. Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond and other cabinet members publicly backed May on Sunday, as there is increasing pressure for her to stand down from growing conflict within her cabinet regarding her handling of Brexit. The Dow Jones is down -0.25%, the S&P 500 is down -0.27%, the Nasdaq is down -0.54%.
