First Look

Stocks in the U.S. are pointed lower Friday morning, lead by commodity-linked issues. Industrial metals in particular are lower as liquidity in Chinese markets is tightening.
The Nasdaq is down -0.19%, the S&P 500 is down -0.34%, the S&P 500 is down -0.34%.

Stocks on the Move

Mosaic Co (MOS), Freeport-McMoRan Inc (FCX) and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co (BMY) are moving higher this morning, while The Western Union Company (WU), NiSource Inc. (NI) and Kellogg Company (K) are headed lower. Cryolife Inc (CRY), Chemours Co (CC) and Arista Networks Inc (ANET) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while Avis Budget Group Inc. (CAR), Kate Spade & Co (KATE) and Charter Communications, Inc. (CHTR) were downgraded.

International Markets

Stocks in Asia are mixed. The Mumbai Sensex is up 0.59%, the Nikkei 225 is up 0.58%, the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is down -0.2% the Hang Seng is down -0.31% and the Shanghai SE Composite Index is down -0.85%.In Europe stocks are mixed. The FTSE 100 is up 0.08%, the DAX is down -0.45%, the Euronext 100 is down -0.54% and the CAC 40 is down -1.04%.

Futures and Currencies

Energy futures are mixed today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 0.28 at 53.39 per barrel. Brent crude is up 0.31 at 56.06 per barrel. Natural Gas is down -0.01 at 2.92. Precious metals are mixed this morning. Gold is up 3 at 1242.04 per ounce. Platinum is down -1.13 at 1011.63 while silver is down -0.04 at 18.04. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is up against the euro, down against the Yen and up against the Pound.

Put/Call Ratio

Yesterday, 952,816 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 510,622 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.54 while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.66.
