U.S. stocks are lower ahead of the open Tuesday after two days of gains. A reading on consumer prices scheduled to be released tomorrow is likely to be a market mover, with a low reading potentially providing some relief, while a higher-than-expected reading would add to the fears about inflation and rising interest rates that have spurred recent volatility. The S&P 500 is down -0.33%, the Dow Jones is down -0.4%, the Nasdaq is down -0.41%.
