Morning Update: Domestic and global stocks up

First Look

Stocks are up ahead of the opening bell Friday morning. U.S. equity futures are up heading into the weekend with Chicago Fed President Charles Evans providing a positive outlook on economic growth and interest rates, saying that they can be “patient” with additional increases. Yesterday’s late-day rally came after a report was released on the possibility of the U.S. rolling back tariffs on China, with administration officials seeking to ease trade war tensions. Netflix posted a beat on earnings per share at $0.30, beating the $0.24 Wall Street estimates, but barely missing revenue expectations of $4.21 billion, falling short with $4.19 billion, sending shares 5% lower in after-hours. The company also set lower growth expectations for the next quarter, falling short of the Wall Street consensus. NFLX is currently down 2.81% in pre-market trading. The Dow Jones is up 0.65%, the Nasdaq is up 0.56%, the S&P 500 is up 0.48%.
