Stocks are up ahead of the opening bell Friday morning. U.S. equity futures are up heading into the weekend with Chicago Fed President Charles Evans providing a positive outlook on economic growth and interest rates, saying that they can be “patient” with additional increases. Yesterday’s late-day rally came after a report was released on the possibility of the U.S. rolling back tariffs on China, with administration officials seeking to ease trade war tensions. Netflix posted a beat on earnings per share at $0.30, beating the $0.24 Wall Street estimates, but barely missing revenue expectations of $4.21 billion, falling short with $4.19 billion, sending shares 5% lower in after-hours. The company also set lower growth expectations for the next quarter, falling short of the Wall Street consensus. NFLX is currently down 2.81% in pre-market trading. The Dow Jones is up 0.65%, the Nasdaq is up 0.56%, the S&P 500 is up 0.48%.

SunTrust Banks, Inc. (STI), Schlumberger Limited. (SLB) and CVS Health Corp (CVS) are moving higher this morning, while Netflix, Inc. (NFLX), Regions Financial Corp (RF) and Eli Lilly And Co (LLY) are headed lower. Chevron Corporation (CVX), Valero Energy Corporation (VLO) and Arista Networks Inc (ANET) were upgraded by analysts this morning, while United States Steel Corporation (X), Signet Jewelers Ltd. (SIG) and Nautilus, Inc. (NLS) were downgraded.
Stocks in Asia are up. The Shanghai SE Composite Index is up 1.42%, the Nikkei 225 is up 1.29%, the Hang Seng is up 1.25% the Australia ASX All Ordinaries is up 0.53% and the Mumbai Sensex is up 0.03%. In Europe stocks are up. The DAX is up 1.9%, the Euro Stoxx 50 is up 1.69%, the CAC 40 is up 1.59% and the FTSE 100 is up 0.86%.

Energy futures are mixed today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up 0.73 at 52.8 per barrel. Brent crude is up 0.8 at 61.98 per barrel. Natural Gas is down -0.15 at 3.26. Precious metals are down this morning. Gold is down -9.15 at 1282.9 per ounce. Platinum is down -3 at 807.34 while silver is down -0.1 at 15.44. The dollar is mixed compared to the major currencies today. The greenback is down against the euro, up against the Yen and up against the Pound.
Yesterday, 1,307,123 call contracts traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) compared to 679,779 put contracts. The single-session put/call was 0.52 while the 20-day moving average is now at 0.69.
