Markets search for direction

After getting the week off to a slow start Monday, U.S. markets are moving up slightly today. The S&P 500 is up 0.06% while the Dow is up 0.04%.

Asian markets were mixed Tuesday. The Hang Seng was down 0.20% and the Nikkei was up 0.28%. In Europe, markets are moving down today. The FTSE is down 0.05%, and the DAX is down 0.09%. 

Energy futures are mixed Monday. West Texas Intermediate crude oil is $93.78 per barrel, up $1.12 and natural gas is up $0.02. Metals prices are mixed this morning. Gold is up $2.40 and platinum is down $1.30. The Dollar is up versus the Euro and the Yen.

HD Supply Holdings, Inc.(HDS), Burlington Stores, Inc.(BURL) and HDFC Bank Ltd. (HDB), are rising.  Avon Products Inc. (AVP), Pinnacle Foods Inc. (PF) and AK Steel Holding Corporation (AKS) are falling today.
