Markets continue down for Thursday

U.S. markets are down early Thursday. Both the S&P 500 and the Dow are down 0.25%. There were 315,000 initial unemployment claims for the week of Sept 6, up from 302,000 the previous week.

Asian markets were lower Thursday, with only the Nikkei showing a 0.76% gain. The Hang Seng was down 0.17% and the Shanghai Composite was down 0.29%.

European markets are moving down this morning. The FTSE is down  0.40%, and the DAX is off 0.07%. 

Energy futures are dropping today. West Texas Intermediate crude oil is $90.59 per barrel, down $1.07 and natural gas is down a penny. Metals prices are slipping down. Gold is down $1.40 and platinum is down $4.90. The Dollar is down versus the Euro and up against the Yen.

Lululemon Athletica Inc.(LULU), JDS Uniphase Corporation(JDSU) and BofI Holding, Inc. (BOFI), are up. Incorporated (COUP), Crocs, Inc.  (CROX) and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc.  (NBR) are down today.
