U.S. stocks are slightly lower this morning as investors look forward to interest rate clues in today’s speech by Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen. The S&P 500 is down 0.21% and the Dow is down 0.25%.
Asian stocks finished mixed Tuesday with markets there on course for a third straight month of losses. The Shanghai was down 1.28% while the Hang Seng was up 0.10%.
European stocks are mixed today with financial and consumer goods shares among the leaders. The FTSE is down 0.05%, while the French CAC is up 0.35%.
Energy futures are lower today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is down $0.75 to $38.64 per barrel, while natural gas is down $0.01 to $1.92. Metals prices are mixed today. Gold is down $0.80 to $1,219.30 per ounce and platinum is up $8.40 to $954.60. The Dollar is down versus the Euro and up against the Yen.
