Investors weigh effects of Trump presidency


U.S. stocks are pointing slightly lower today as global markets back off from some their recent gains. The S&P 500 is down 0.34%, while the Dow is down 0.29%.

Asian stocks finished mixed Wednesday with the Japanese financial sector showing gains. The Shanghai was down 0.06% and the Nikkei was up 1.10%.

European stocks are down today as falling oil prices pull energy shares lower. The FTSE is down 0.73%, while the DAX is down 0.75%.   

Energy futures are down today. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is down $0.46 to $45.35 per barrel, while natural gas is down $0.01to $2.87. Metals prices are down this morning. Gold is down $0.30 to $1,224.80 per ounce and platinum is up $2.10 to $932.60. The Dollar is up against the Euro and the Yen.

Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc. (HMNY), JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd.   (JKS), and Target Corp. (TGT) are early risers, while Aqua Metals, Inc.  (AQMS), Noble Corporation plc (NE), and KeyCorp. (KEY) are down. [InvestorsKeyhole, news and data sources]
