Can markets extend weeks gains?

U.S. stocks are mixed this morning after a day of gains on Tuesday. The S&P 500 is down 0.14% and the Dow is up 0.04%.

Asian markets had a  mixed Wednesday as Japanese stocks jumped higher. The Nikkei was up 2.64% while the Shanghai Composite fell 0.56%.

European markets are moving higher this morning with German stocks leading the way. The FTSE is up 0.11%, and the DAX has risen 0.24%. 

Energy futures are mixed this morning. The price for West Texas Intermediate crude oil is $82.82 per barrel, up $0.33 and natural gas is flat. Metals prices are down today. Gold is down $4.10 and platinum has down $9.50. The Dollar is up versus the Euro and down against the Yen.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (SIX), Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (CLF) and Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO), are early gainers, while Cree, Inc. (CREE), 3D Systems Corporation (DDD) and British American Tobacco plc(BTI) are falling.
