What's happening with CVX: Oil and gas giant Chevron (CVX) currently has a dividend yield of 3.2%, but it is likely to announce a dividend hike as early as this week. After running into stiff selling pressure during January the stock has been trending higher over the last two and a half months, and has made back most of its losses from earlier in the year. Year to date the stock is down just 1.6%.

What's happening with SBUX: Coffee retailer Starbucks (SBUX) is slated to release its fiscal Q2 results after the market close on April 24. Starbucks has struggled to keep pace with the broader market in 2014, with the stock having lost 9.3% since the start of the year. Analysts expect to see the company report earnings of $0.56 for its second quarter.
