1) Do We Have More To Worry About Than Just Costco (COST) This Week? + Lee’s take on NYT, DIS, KR, WFMI, SWY,TWX, SPLS, EBAY, AMZN, AMTD, SCHW, ETFC, COST, and HSY.

With what’s been going on in the world news lately, Costco (COST) is close to the bottom of my worry list right now. Sure, Costco is reporting earnings soon and those results could affect the very foundation of the stock market at this shaky economic recovery, but there are at least four other things that I’m really worried about.

When news like this all surfaces around the same time, it has to be more than pure coincidence. Other factors must be at work here. Factors that could possibly shake all our core beliefs, assumptions and expectations when it comes to how the world actually works.

No… These stories were not hidden in the back of the New York Times (NYT) or omitted from the ABC – owned be Disney (DIS) – nightly news. They were put right out there with the normal news. Yet to a vigilant person like me, the pattern was like ancient stone carvings, or crop circles, or like the secret to why there has not been an ice cream revolt yet, as grocery stores like Kroger (KR), Whole Foods (WFMI), and Safeway (SWY) keep making the containers smaller.  Remember when we could actually buy a half gallon of ice cream?

But these four stories are even wilder and they can mean only one thing…

It’s a magazine… It’s a store…
