The trades in this portfolio have an initial investment between $500 and $1,500. That amount is the most you can lose on the trade and in most cases, is a fraction of the amount you would pay for the stock or lose if the stock went against you. This is a great way to see the types of trades that can act as substitutes for holding stock.

Double… Our goal is to double the amount you invest in each trade. Sort of like blackjack. Normally for you to double your investment in a stock that stock would have to double in price. But not the way we set up these investments. To double your money the stock may only need to go up 5% to 15%.

Nothing… These are risky investments. Big returns have big risks. With this portfolio, if the stock goes against us quickly you may lose your entire investment. That means the pile of blue poker chips in front of you could disappear.

The Grandpa Factor… Remember how I told you the way my Grandfather would give back some of the money even if we lost? Well, we will try to get back some of your money even if these investments turn sour. Even though the stock goes against a position, you might just go home with some change in your pocket.

But there is the definite possibility you will go home with nothing.

The strategies at the core of this portfolio should help you benefit from an expected move in a stock price at a much higher profit rate than just taking a position in the stock. And if the stock goes against you, you may lose your entire investment but that will probably be a lower dollar amount than if you actually owned or shorted the stock.
